Sunday Sermon Title:
“Growing In The Process”
Note from the Pastor:
Last Sunday I preached this message and I feel The Lord is wanting me to stay on this subject for a little while. The Lord has been talking to me about being spiritual vs. carnal and events vs. process.
1 Corinthians 3 starts with Paul stating that he could not talk to the church people about spiritual things because they were still carnal (concerned about fleshly matters). He also states that the evidence of their carnality was envy, strife, and divisions in the church. Paul was not saying that they were not Christians, he was stating that they were “carnal” Christians. Their attitudes and conduct was preventing them from growing from babes in Christ to mature believers!
I believe our carnality as Christians can and has caused a lot of problems in the church as a whole. I also believe that being a Christian is not just an event of giving your life to The Lord on a Sunday, but it is an on going process that starts on Monday and continues through the week as a lifestyle! We will reap more if we walk in The Spirit than if we walk in our flesh!
